Reverend Jarod A. Cooper
Reverend Jarod A. Cooper is the pastor of the historic Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, where he was called to serve in 2025. A native of Morristown, New Jersey, Reverend Cooper began his Christian journey at an early age. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior on February 11, 1990, and was baptized on February 25, 1990.
Answering God's call to the preaching ministry, Reverend Cooper delivered his first sermon on June 25, 1997, beginning a journey of preaching, teaching, spiritual leadership, and compassionate service. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and his Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey. His ministerial preparation also includes an internship in Lakewood, New Jersey, and Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training within the Texas Medical Center.
Reverend Cooper's ministry extends beyond the church pulpit into healthcare chaplaincy and spiritual care. His professional experience includes chaplaincy service at Baylor and full-time work as a hospice and palliative care chaplain, providing spiritual encouragement, comfort, and compassionate support to patients and families navigating difficult circumstances. He is married to Robbie Jennice Cooper, and they are blessed with two children, Joshua and Jiana.
